Wendy Dobson

Dr. Wendy Dobson is Director of the Institute for International Business in the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management. Professor Dobson joined the Rotman School in 1990. Prior to that she was Associate Deputy Minister of Finance in Ottawa and President of the C.D. Howe Institute, Canada’s leading independent economic policy research organization. She teaches courses in open economy macroeconomics and international business. She is a Non-Executive Director of Canadian Companies in Finance, Energy and Life Sciences and is Vice Chair of the Canadian Public Accountability Board.
Professor Dobson’s current research focuses on emerging market economies, economic integration in North America, the international financial system, regional and global governance, and Canadian public policy issues. She is a member of the Advisory Committee of the Institute of International Economics and the Canada Institute at the Woodrow Wilson International Centre. She is also a member of a number of international networks, including the Pacific Trade and Development network (PAFTAD).
