China and the Changing World Order: Implications for Canada

Abstract:

A presentation to the Canadian International Council’s conference on “Canada and the Dominant Emerging Powers: Brazil, Russia, India and China (the BRIC),” Cecil Green Park House, UBC, May 29, 2009. Dr. Evans examines some aspects of the world order today as seen through Chinese eyes, and cautions against assuming that China itself will not influence that world order into patterns that are different from those that seem natural today.
