Toronto-based Global Maxfin Investments Inc., a financial solutions provider, announced that it has signed a definitive agreement with Professional Investment Holdings (PIH) Group of Australia to acquire its Canadian subsidiary, Professional Investment Services (Canada) Inc. PIH is a large network of financial advisers, accountants and life insurance brokers with operations in seven countries across the Asia Pacific and North America. PIH (Canada) is a mutual fund dealer.

Vancouver-based Minco Gold Corporation announced that it has entered into an agreement with Accel China Growth Fund II L.P., a fund under management by IDGVC Capital Partners located in China.  The agreement involves the purchase, on a non-brokered private placement basis, of 5 million common shares in the capital stock of Minco Silver at a price of C$0.88 per share for aggregate gross proceeds of up to C$4.4 million. The offering represents 10.3% of the issued and outstanding common shares of Minco Gold.
