Un groupe de réflexion indépendant sur les relations du Canada avec l’Asie
Gateway Convenings
The Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada, with the support of Western Economic Diversification Canada, organized a series of consultations across Canada to examine the implications of the Asia Pacific Gateway for policy makers. These convenings were a one- to two-day consultation, with roughly 30-50 representatives from government, politics, transport, commerce, financial services, academia, organized labour, and culture and the arts, to discuss the initiative in its broadest concept.
The Foundation worked with a local partner to help coordinate each event. The convenings will culminate in a final wrap-up session in Ottawa in 2007, which will serve to inform key government ministries of the priority issues identified in the previous convenings.
For each of the convenings, we offer below a synthesis of the ideas that arose from the roundtable discussion, as well as the convening program and a list of participants
