Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada Announces 2008-2009 Grants Program to Support Research on Asia Pacific Region
VANCOUVER, BC – The Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada today announced details of its Research Grants Program which is principally funded through the proceeds of an endowment established by the Government of Canada and designed to support research and informed discussion on public policy issues related to Canada’s engagement with the Asia Pacific region. The program is now in its third year.
Said the Foundation’s President and Co-CEO Yuen Pau Woo, “As part of the Foundation’s Canada Asia Pacific Research Network (CAPRN), the grants program funds research activities, graduate and media fellowships, and special initiatives. These activities will in turn assist in the enhancement of Canadian capacity for public policy research and analysis focusing on the Asia Pacific region.”
The Asia Pacific Research Grants are available in four categories: Policy Research Grants; Post-Graduate Research Fellowships; Media Fellowship Grants; and Special Initiative Funding. All grant recipients will be selected on the merits of their proposals and on their potential contribution to advancing the objectives of the Foundation’s programs. Applications may be submitted in English or French.
