Bombardier Wins Contract to Supply 25kV Rail Cars to Australia
Bombardier Transportation announced that it has received an order from the Government of South Australia for the supply and maintenance of 22 Bombardier 25kV 3 car electric trains for the city of Adelaide. The contract is valued at approximately US$278 million. The vehicles, known locally as A-City, will be built at two manufacturing facilities: Dandenong in the state of Victoria, and Maryborough in the state of Queensland. Bombardier Transportation, based in Germany, is part of Quebec-based Bombardier Inc., which manufactures transportation solutions, including commercial aircraft, business jets, rail transportation equipment, and systems and services.
