Bombardier Wins New Contract in Delhi to Deliver 74 More Metro Cars

Bombardier Transportation announced that it has won an order for 74 Bombardier Movia metro cars from the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (DMRC). The contract is valued at approximately US$101 million and includes an option of a further 40 cars. Delivery will follow the completion of existing contracts and is expected to end in 2011. With the contract award DMRC will be operating a fleet of 498 Movia metro cars, benefiting from economies of scale in both acquisition and maintenance costs. Bombardier is a Montreal-based manufacturer of innovative transportation solutions, from commercial aircraft and business jets to rail transportation equipment, systems and services.
