Canada Assists Internet Project in Rural Thailand

The Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) is providing 75% of the support for the Thailand-Canada Telecentre Project, designed to link eight rural Thai communities to the Internet. Leaders in the communities have been trained to use the technology, and hardware is expected to be delivered next month. Users will be encouraged to earn revenue from disseminating agricultural information on the Internet.
