Canada to Contribute $8 Million to ILO to Support Women's Employment in Pakistan

Canada, the Pakistan Ministry of Labour and Manpower and the International Labour Organisation (ILO) have signed an agreement aimed at increasing employment opportunities for women in Pakistan. Canada will contribute C$8 million to the ILO for this joint initiative which aims to encourage gender equality in employment and provide Pakistani women the chance of improved earnings, work environments and a greater participation in household decisions. Canada’s contribution will be focused on providing job skills training and technical support to the government as well as reinforcing mechanisms to bring district, provincial and national key stakeholders together.
