Canada, South Korea Sign MOU to Enhance International Development Cooperation
Minister of International Cooperation, Beverley J. Oda, announced that the Government of Canada and the Government of the Republic of Korea have agreed to work together to strengthen cooperation on international development. Minister Oda and the Republic of Korea’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Kim Sung-Hwan, signed a letter of intent to develop a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Canada and Korea, during the Fourth High Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness (HLF4) being held in Busan, South Korea. Canada and the Republic of Korea will explore opportunities for greater international development cooperation as part of a global effort to forge new and inclusive partnerships to make aid more effective in reducing poverty,a key objective of the HLF4 in Busan.
