CIDA Announces Support for Drought-Affected People in Afghanistan
The Minister of International Cooperation, Beverley Oda, announced the details of Canada’s support to the World Food Programme (WFP) to provide relief food assistance for drought-affected populations in Afghanistan. Canada’s support to WFP will assist approximately 1.2 million drought-affected people with food rations. In addition, approximately 42,000 families in urban areas will receive cash vouchers worth the equivalent value of 50 kilograms of wheat flour for six months.
