CIDA Provides Funding to Vietnam Red Cross
In response to the floods triggered by torrential rains in Vietnam in early October, the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) will support the delivery of needed assistance to some 6,000 families (25,000 individuals) in the provinces of Ha Tinh and Quang Binh, in central Vietnam. Through this operation, launched on October 18, Canada’s contribution of $50,000 will help enable the Vietnam Red Cross Society to provide non-food relief items, household and hygiene items, as well as drinking water and livelihood support to the affected communities in the coming months.
