Government of B.C. Provides Port Funding to Help Expand Trade Ties with Asia Pacific Region

B.C. Premier Christy Clark announced that the B.C. Government would make a C$15 million contribution for the C$90 million Road Rail Utility Corridor project, Phase 1 of a planned C$300 million development at the Port of Prince Rupert. This project includes investments of C$30 million from Canadian National Rail (CN) and C$30 million from the Prince Rupert Port Authority. It is expected that the Road Rail Utility Corridor Project will expand Ridley Island’s terminal capacity to help meet demand from Asia for Western Canada’s natural resources.
