Japan’s INPEX Corp. Acquires 40% Interest in Nexen’s Shale Gas Projects

Calgary-based Nexen Inc. and Japan’s INPEX Corporation announced that through INPEX Gas British Columbia, INPEX has agreed in principle to acquire a 40% participating interest in shale gas projects in the Horn River, Cordova and Liard basins located in northeastern British Columbia. INPEX Gas British Columbia Ltd. is jointly established by INPEX and JGC Corporation with the purpose of promoting the shale gas projects. INPEX Corporation is focused on research, exploration, development, production and sales of oil, natural gas and other mineral resources. Nexen is a Canadian energy exploration and production company.
