Montreal’s WSP to Make C$243.3M Takeover Offer for New Zealand’s Opus Int'l

Montreal-headquartered WSP Global Inc. (WSP) and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia-headquartered UEM Edgenta Berhard entered into an agreement today under which WSP will acquire UEM Edgenta's 61.2-per cent interest in Opus International Consultants Ltd. (OIC) for approximately C$243.4 million. Headquartered in Wellington, New Zealand, OIC is a multidisciplinary infrastructure (transportation and water), buildings, and asset development/management consultancy with over 3,000 staff across New Zealand, Australia, Canada, and the United Kingdom. Professional services firm WSP provides technical expertise and strategic advice to the property and buildings, transportation and infrastructure, environment, industry, resources (including mining and oil and gas), and power and energy sectors.
