Prime Minister to Visit China, Thailand and India in October

Prime Minister Jean Chretien is planning an official eight-day visit to China, Thailand and India next month. Sources have said that the Prime Minister is also planning to make a stop in Afghanistan, where over 1,900 Canadian peacekeepers are currently stationed. John McCallum, Minister of Defence, and Bill Graham, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, have both visited Afghanistan in recent months.
