Recipients of Canadian Awards For International Cooperation Announced
Canada’s Minister of International Cooperation, Maria Minna, announced the recipients of the Canadian Awards for International Cooperation, which pay tribute to Canadian organizations that have directly helped developing countries or countries in transition to progress socially and economically. Acres International of Oakville, Ontario won the SNC Lavalin Award for Improvement of Physical Infrastructure or Improvement of Social Infrastructure. Acres International recently played a lead role in a project to reform involuntary resettlement policies in seven Asian countries (Bangladesh, Indonesia, Nepal, Pakistan, China, the Philippines and Vietnam). Awards were also presented to: KPMG Consulting LP & Roche International, Asia Pacific Management Cooperative-Capilano College, Hatfield Consultants Ltd., and International Rail Consultants (all from Vancouver); Canadian Occidental Petroleum (Calgary); and Kartini International Consulting Inc. (Toronto).
