Bengal Energy Forms JV with Beach Energy of Australia
Calgary-based Bengal Energy Ltd., an international junior oil and gas exploration and production company, announced that it has agreed to form a strategic joint venture with Beach Energy Ltd. of Australia for the exploration and development of Bengal Energy’s 100% owned Tookoonooka Block in the Cooper Basin of Australia. Beach Energy will fund Bengal’s share of a two-well drilling and 3D seismic exploration and appraisal work program to a maximum of US$11.1 million. Bengal Energy will use Beach Energy’s exploration, appraisal and development capabilities.
West Mountain Capital Forms JV Agreement with Reignwood Group of China
West Mountain Capital Corp., a Calgary-based investment company that focuses on environmental services, has formed a joint venture agreement with The Reignwood Group of China, a multinational company with investments in a wide range of goods and services. The agreement is for a jointly owned corporation named Reignwood Environmental which will perform services such as brownfield redevelopment, site remediation, and oily sludge treatment. Reignwood Environmental will be owned 55% by West Mountain and 45% by Reignwood.
Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan to Open Office in Hong Kong
The Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan announced that it has received licensing to open an office in Hong Kong in the coming months. The Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, which has C$129.5 billion in assets, invests and administers the pensions of more than 300,000 retired and active teachers in Ontario.

CIBT Education Group Subsidiary Opens Language Centre in Beijing
CIBT Education Group Inc., a Vancouver-based education management company, announced that its subsidiary, King George International College (KGIC), will open its Beijing Education Center in June. CIBT focuses on the global education market and maintains a network of business, technical and language colleges in several countries. The new centre will offer fully accredited language preparation courses for both K-12 and post-secondary-level students in China who are planning to study abroad. The centre’s programs have been approved by Languages Canada, a body that governs language schools in Canada.

Alberta Announces New International Strategy with Expanded Presence in Asia
The Government of Alberta has released a new international strategy that seeks to enhance access in priority markets and attract investment through a Team Alberta approach. The strategy will strengthen Alberta’s presence in growing and important markets, including doubling resources in its trade and investment office in Beijing, co-locating its Shanghai office with the federal government and establishing a new office in southern China. Atco Signs C$100M Deal to Supply Modular Units for LNG Project in Australia
Atco Structures & Logistics, part of the Calgary-based Atco Group of companies, reported it will supply 357 modular building units for the Chevron-operated Wheatstone LNG Project in Western Australia in a deal valued at almost C$100 million. With international engineering company Bechtel, Atco’s Australian subsidiary will design, manufacture, transport and install the units. The Atco Group of companies provides business solutions in the areas of utilities, energy, structure and logistics, and technologies.

Aimia Announces New Partnership in India with Axis Bank
Montreal-based loyalty management company Aimia Inc. has formed a partnership with Axis Bank, an Indian private-sector bank, launching its bankwide customer loyalty program, eDGE Loyalty Rewards. Aimia’s India office designed and deployed the program in partnership with Axis Bank, and will be responsible for its continuing management.
