Bata India Limits Credit to Wholesalers

Bata India Limited, a subsidiary of Toronto-based Bata Shoe Organization, has restricted credit sales to wholesalers and is attempting to obtain overdue payments from them. The wholesalers have not been able to pay because of declining consumer demand, contributing to Bata India’s C$983,000 loss in the first quarter of this year.
