British Columbia to Hire Trade Representatives in Asia
B.C. Economic Development Minister Colin Hansen announced that a permanent B.C. presence will be felt in Asia through full-time B.C. representatives based in Asia tasked with increasing trade and investment opportunities on behalf of the province. The B.C. representatives will focus on promoting B.C. as a globally competitive location. These consultants will support B.C.’s key economic objectives of job creation, regional development and economic diversity. The government is targeting Canadians already currently residing in China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea and/or Taiwan with extensive business experience and contacts, and the goal is to have the positions filled by the end of the year.
