Canada Education Week in Vietnam, October 24-30
The Consulate General of Canada in Ho Chi Minh City and the Embassy of Canada in Hanoi will hold the 2nd ‘Canada Education Week’ in Vietnam, October 24-30. The week-long program will consist of a series of events and activities, taking place in Hanoi and HCMC, including: two education fairs, two agent matchmaking events, two networking receptions hosted by Canada’s Ambassador to Vietnam and Canada’s Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City, briefings by Trade Commissioners and the Immigration Manager, parent seminars, and visits to target local high schools to present directly to students and conduct mini-fairs. The objective of this initiative is to capture a larger share of the 25,000 Vietnamese students who go overseas for study every year. The number of Vietnamese students who have received study permits for Canada has increased 225% between 2006 and 2009.
