Canada Supports Families Impacted by Cyclone Giri in Burma

Minister of International Cooperation, Beverly J. Oda, announced that the Government of Canada will provide $500,000 in humanitarian assistance to victims of Cyclone Giri in Burma. The Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) will provide the assistance in the form of emergency shelter, health services, and access to drinkable water. Save the Children Canada and Medecins Sans Frontieres will administer this aid. The cyclone hit Burma on October 22, destroying tens of thousands of homes, roads and bridges.
