CRTC and Australian Agency Join Forces in Fight Against Spam

The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) has announced a partnership with the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) to combat commercial electronic messages (spam) and telemarketing. The MoU will allow the two agencies to provide one another with investigative assistance and develop a co-ordinated approach in enforcing Canadian and Australian spam and telemarketing laws to reduce the threat they pose to citizens in both countries. The agreement follows a similar partnership the CRTC formed with New Zealand in February, and with the U.S. and eleven other international agencies in 2016.
