John Baird, Canada’s Foreign Affairs Minister, signed on to the Third Protocol Amending the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation (TAC) in Southeast Asia during the ASEAN Regional Forum and Post Ministerial Conference in Indonesia. Canada’s accession to the Third Protocol represents its continued commitment to enhanced relations with ASEAN, and to peace and stability in the region. In addition, Minister Baird met with Gombojav Zandanshatar, Mongolia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, on the margins of the Indonesia meetings.
