Honda Announces Second-Shift Production in Ontario Facility

Honda of Canada Mfg. (HCM) announced that it will add a second production shift to its Plant 2 facility in Alliston, Ontario. The addition, expected in early 2011, will increase the facility’s daily output from 400 to 600 units and create more than 400 new positions. Models produced at the Plant 2 facility include the Acura MSX sport utility vehicle, Honda Civic sedan, and Acura ZDX crossover. HCM’s total investment in its two existing assembly plants and one engine plant totals more than $2.6 billion.
