Imax Signs Deal for Four Theatres in South Korea

Toronto-based Imax Corporation and CJ CGV Co. Ltd., a commercial exhibitor in South Korea, announced an agreement to install four Imax MPX theatre systems at multiplexes in South Korea in the next two years. CJ CGV operates a total of 388 screens at 50 state-of-the-art multiplexes across the country. Under the terms of the agreement, CJ CGV will open new and retrofitted Imax theatres at leading multiplexes in and around Seoul and Busan, with the first two locations scheduled to open in December 2005. The first commercial Imax theatre in South Korea opened in Seoul 20 years ago.
