Magna Steyr Acquires Convertible System Supplier in Japan

Ontario-based Magna Steyr, an operating unit of Magna International Inc., announced that it has acquired Karmann Japan Co. Ltd., a subsidiary of Wilhelm Karmann GmbH and a convertible system supplier, and is combining Karmann with its current car top system capabilities in Japan. Magna Steyr’s car top systems business in Japan now includes the Nissan 370Z Roadster and the Infiniti G Convertible. Magna Steyr Japanese headquarters will be based in Shin-Yokohama, with production facilities in Yokohama and Tochigi. Magna Steyr is an engineering and manufacturing partner to the OEMs.
