Media Fellowship Winners Announced by Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada
Two journalists from the National Post are this year’s winners of the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada’s 2010-11 Media Fellowship program that offers Canadian journalists the opportunity to travel and spend time in Asia to research and prepare stories of relevance and interest to Canadians. The Foundation awarded two media grants this year, each valued at up to $10,000. The Media Fellowships are part of the Asia Pacific Foundation Research Grants Program, funded through the proceeds of an endowment established by the Government of Canada and designed to stimulate informed discussion on Canada’s relations with Asia. The 2010-11 Media Fellows are Peter Koven, who will research “How Canadian companies are changing the mining landscape in Asia, particularly in China and Mongolia” under the Canadians Abroad theme, and Carrie Tait, who will examine “China and Korea’s national oil and gas companies and their role in changing the landscape of Canada’s oil patch” under the Open Category theme.
