Melbourne’s Royal Children’s Hospital Purchases Imriscardio System

Imris Inc., a Winnipeg-based provider of image guided therapy solutions, announced the sale of Imriscardio to the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, Australia. The integrated suite at the RCH will include an interventional theatre for cardiovascular procedures, an operating room for neurosurgery and a diagnostic centre. The Imris system features a bi-plane angiography system in the interventional theatre and a wide bore 3T MR scanner. The high-field MR scanner can be deployed in any of the three rooms, permitting rapid transitions between MR imaging and surgery or intervention without transporting the patient between modalities. MR images can be taken before, during and after procedures and can also be used in conjunction with fluoroscopic images during cardiovascular procedures.
