Pulse Tariffs Top Agenda as Alberta Agriculture Minister Heads to India

Pulse Tariffs remain on top of the agenda as Alberta Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Oneil Carlier heads out on a trade mission to India later this week. In 2017, India imposed a 50-per-cent tariff on chickpea imports, and India refused to extend a Canadian exemption for pest treatments on pulses. Minister Carlier will be making the keynote speech at the India Pulse Conclave 2018, which is run by India’s top pulse and grain body and expected to attract 1,500 delegates.
