Quebec and India’s Maharashtra State Sign Memorandum of Understanding

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed between India's state government of Maharashtra and the province of Quebec to increase economic co-operation, particularly in areas that include information technology, biotechnology, artificial intelligence, and Indigenous rights and inclusion. The pact was signed by Quebec premier Philippe Couillard and Maharashtra's chief minister Devendra Fadanvis during the latter's visit to Canada with a delegation of Indian bureaucrats. The Indian team also met with Pierre Beaudoin, Chair of the Board of Bombardier Inc., a multinational aerospace and transportation company headquartered in Quebec, and Michael Sabia, President and CEO of Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, an institutional investor that manages several public and para-public pension plans and insurance programs in Quebec.
