Sunshine Oilsands, China’s CPECC Sign MOU for Alberta Project

Calgary-based Sunshine Oilsands Ltd., an energy company focused on the development of its oil sands leases, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the China Petroleum Engineering & Construction Corporation (CPECC) in relation to the West Ells Phase II project expansion in Alberta. The project’s Phase II requires approximately US$50 million for completion, after which time the production capacity of West Ells will be an envisaged 10,000 barrels per day. CPECC is a Beijing-based oil engineering, manufacturing, construction, and contracting company affiliated with the China National Petroleum Corporation.
