Vancouver International Airport Begins Nonstop Service to Guangzhou, China

The Vancouver Airport Authority announced that China Southern Airlines will begin offering Canada’s first and only nonstop flight from Vancouver International Airport (YVR) to China’s Guangdong province. Beginning on June 15, 2011, China Southern will begin offering three flights weekly from YVR to and from the province’s capital city of Guangzhou. China Southern‘s service to Guangzhou is estimated to generate C$2.2 million in wages, and contribute C$3.5 million to British Columbia’s gross domestic product (GDP) annually.
