Wi-LAN Inc. Signs Licensing Agreement with NEC Corp. of Japan

Wi-LAN Inc., an Ottawa-based technology innovation and licensing company, announced that NEC Corporation of Japan has agreed to a multi-year licence agreement to Wi-LAN patented technology. This licence will provide NEC access to Wi-LAN technology for use in its extensive portfolio of domestic and export ADSL products. NEC, a provider of systems, components, services and integrated solutions for computing and communications applications is the dominant supplier of ADSL equipment in Japan. Its product portfolio includes a range of ADSL equipment, including digital subscriber line access multiplexers and customer premise modems.
