Bilateral ‘Snapshot’ of Pakistan-Canada Relations
Published: May 22, 2009 in Research Reports (16 pages)
Abstract:
The bilateral relationship between Pakistan and Canada leaves much room for growth and development. People are the most important linkages between Pakistan and Canada today, while trade tends to focus on a few industries, notably seed oils. This descriptive paper provides vital statistics on key aspects of the Canada-Pakistan bilateral relationship with the view to offering a snapshot of the status quo rather than providing policy prescriptions. Thus, it presents baseline data from which interested researchers could develop a number of trajectories. Topics include trade, top industries, foreign aid, demographic linkages/statistics, migration and citizenship, religion, academic and tourism.
