I’ve examined the survey and

I’ve examined the survey and find myself coming to pretty much the same conclusions about China. I have no illusions about China in its growing sphere of influence and power but that doesn’t mean I intend to kowtow to them because I’m economically tied to them. As bad as their human rights record is, they are not Nazi Germany (under Mao they were worse!). As I spend considerable time in the USA and have close ties with Europe, I’m inclined to place my allegiances and trust with people I can understand and who don’t oppress their own people. FTR: I mistrust Mexicans and Indians even more. I would vacation in China but not Mexico or India because of the level of crime filth and/or corruption. As for quality of products, goods from China and Mexico are generally garbage and of inferior quality. China and India may be at America and European levels of technology/savy but they have a long road to climb to reach our level of excellence. I live near a Mennonite community. Nothing from China, India, Mexico comes close to their work ethic or quality of manufacture. China can cut the use of coal if we offer our very best wind technology and expertise. Many win-win situations are possible, but unfortunately there is a trust issue on both sides.I think Canada should form more partnerships for sustainable growth with China.
