Vancouver-based Amanta Resources Ltd. announced that it has signed a letter of intent with CNP Exploration and Mining Import-Export Co., Ltd.

Lawrence Cannon, Minister of Foreign Affairs, congratulated the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) on the entry into force of the ASEAN Charter. ‘The ASEAN Charter heralds a new chapter in the already close partnership between ASEAN and Canada. Vancouver-based Amanta Resources Ltd. has signed a copper mineral exploration agreement, with the government of the Laos. The agreement grants Amanta exclusive rights over a 200 sq. km concession area in Luang Natha province, northern Laos, some 600 km from Vientiane. The agreement provides for an initial five year prospecting, exploration and feasibility study period, which may be extended upon application by Amanta to the government.

Vancouver-based Amanta Resources Ltd. announced that the Committee for Planning and Investment of the government of Laos, has informed Amanta that it has approved the company’s application to explore for copper and associated minerals in northern Laos. The committee has invited Amanta to commence negotiations in respect of a mineral exploration agreement. The agreement will cover an area of 200 sq. km. and will be for a period of up to eight years, with provision for time extensions.

Ottawa-based C-COM Satellite Systems Inc. completed the integration of its iNetVu mobile antenna systems with Shin Satellite’s IPSTAR broadband satellite, a satellite broadband system in Asia. The IPSTAR satellite, with a capacity of over 45 gigabits-per-second (gbps), offers high speed, two-way broadband communication to subscribers in Australia, Cambodia, China, Laos, Thailand, Myanmar, New Zealand and Vietnam.
