Canwest Global Communications to Sell Majority Stake in Australian Broadcaster
Winnipeg-based Canwest Global Communications Corp., an international media company with a presence in New Zealand, Australia, Indonesia, Singapore, the United Kingdom and the United States, announced that it will sell its majority stake in Ten Network Holdings Ltd. Ten Network is an Australian media company with businesses in television and out-of-home advertising. Canwest has signed an agreement with Macquarie Capital Advisors Ltd. to sell its 50.1% stake in Ten Network Holdings in a block rate. McVicar Industries Sells Stake in Chinese Joint Venture for US$850,000
Toronto-based McVicar Industries Inc. announced that it has obtained Chinese government approval of McVicar’s withdrawal from the joint venture with Sino Lion (USA) Ltd. in Sino-Lion Nanjing Ltd. The company’s 27% equity interest in Sino Lion Nanjing Ltd. was sold for a cash consideration of US$850,000 to a holding company controlled by one of the directors of Sino Lion (USA) Ltd. Nortel Networks to Sell Majority Stake in South Korean Joint Venture with LG
Toronto-based Nortel Networks announced that its principal operating subsidiary, Nortel Networks Limited, has decided to seek a buyer for its majority stake (50% + 1 share) in LG-Nortel, the company’s South Korean joint venture with LG Electronics. LG-Nortel provides telecommunications equipment and network solutions, spanning wired and wireless technologies to service provider and enterprise customers in Korea and around the world.
