City of Dreams operates an estimated 450 tables of which 80% are baccarat. EZ Baccarat is a method of accelerating the speed of baccarat by eliminating the commission.

Edmonton-based Poly-Pacific International Inc. announced that it has signed a licence agreement with Energy Quest Inc. to gain exclusive rights to commercialize and/or manufacture, market and distribute Energy Quest’s gasification technologies in China, Hong Kong and Macau. The objective of the licence agreement is to deliver sustainable municipal waste management in China by selling gasification power plants that are based on new technologies with zero emissions.

Aurora, Ontario-based Magna Entertainment Corp. an owner and operator of horse racetracks, announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, FEX Straw Manufacturing Inc., has entered into a technology licence Agreement with Australia-based Premier Equine Products Pty Ltd. (PEP). Under the agreement, FEX has licensed to PEP the exclusive right to manufacture and sell STREUfex horse bedding product in Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Macau, Japan and Singapore for 20 years.

MedMira Inc. has signed an exclusive licensing agreement with HealthCare Asia MediTech Ltd., which will utilize MedMira’s flow-through rapid test technology in the Greater China markets (China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau). HealthCare Asia MediTech Ltd. will develop, commercialize, market and sell rapid diagnostic tests based on MedMira’s proprietary technology. MedMira is a Halifax-based developer and manufacturer of flow-through rapid diagnostics, with manufacturing facilities in Halifax and a representative office in China.

Yangtze Telecom Corp., of Vancouver, announced that its subsidiary China United Telecom Technology Company has appointed Caritas Hong Kong as the authorized agent in the development of its distance education business in Hong Kong and Macau. The agency agreement was signed with the Adult and Higher Education Services of Caritas Hong Kong. Initially, this agreement covers 24 intermediate courses, 18 higher level courses and 6 executive courses.

Toronto-based Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts announced several new developments projects in Asia including Taipei, Shanghai and Macau. Four Seasons Hotel Taipei in the Hsin Yi District will be a mixed use development (retail and business space) and is expected to open in 2009. The Four Seasons Hotel Shanghai at Pudong will be the company’s second property in Shanghai (and fourth in China) and is scheduled to open in early 2009. Four Seasons Hotel Macau, located on the Cotai Strip, is scheduled to open late next year.

Grand Power Logistics Group Inc., of Calgary, announced that its wholly-owned Hong Kong subsidiary, Grand Power Logistics International Ltd., has entered into a share purchase and exchange agreement with Grand Power Express Forwarders Co. Ltd., of Macau. Under the terms of the agreement, Grand Power Hong Kong will acquire 100% of the shares of Grand Power Macau for HK$13.75M (approximately C$2.17M).
