IRD Announces Two Highway Contracts in India Valued at C$820,000
Saskatoon-based International Road Dynamics Inc. announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary IRDSA (South Asia) has been awarded two separate contracts in India with a total value of around C$820,000 by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). The first is for the supply and installation of Automatic Vehicle Classification equipment and electronics for a total of 46 toll lanes. The second award is for the supply, installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of high speed Weigh-In Motion systems at five toll plazas in different locations.
IRD Announces Four New Highway Traffic Technology Contracts in India Valued at C$2.75 Million
Saskatoon-based International Road Dynamics Inc., through its wholly owned subsidiary IRDSA (South Asia), has been awarded four contracts in India with a total value of approximately C$2.75 million. The first is a contract awarded by the Indu Group of Hyderabad, India to supply Toll Collection Systems and Highway Traffic Management Systems (HTMS) along 40 km of multilane highway under a build-own-and-operate contract. The second is a contract for the supply of HTMS equipment on a 40 km section of highway by the MVR Group.
International Road Dynamics Inc. Awarded C$4.8 Million in New Contracts in India
Saskatoon-based International Road Dynamics Inc. (IRD), a highway traffic management technology company specializing in supplying products and systems to the global intelligent transportation systems industry, announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, International Road Dynamics South Asia, has been awarded three new contracts in India valued at approximately C$4.8 Million. The first contract is from Reliance Energy, an infrastructure development company in India, to provide toll operation and maintenance services on two national highways.
Saskatchewan Delegation Concludes 10-day Visit to India
Saskatchewan’s Enterprise and Innovation Minister Lyle Stewart has concluded a 10-day trip to India where he led a delegation and met with business, academic, government and research contacts in Mumbai, Ahmedabad and New Delhi. The delegation was comprised of representatives from Saskatchewan’s two universities and the Saskatchewan Research Council. Mr. Stewart commented that: "strengthening our economic relationships with India, and creating new ones, was the primary purpose of this trip.
Canadian Agricultural Delegation to Visit Bangladesh Next Week
A trade and agricultural delegation comprised of the Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture, the Saskatchewan Trade and Export Partnership, the Canadian International Grains Institute and Pulse Canada will visit Bangladesh from February 14 to promote agricultural exports. The purpose of the five-day trip is to raise the profile of Canadian agriculture by offering local enterprises an opportunity to network with Canadian agri-business players and learn more about Canada’s research and development in this field.
Saskatchewan Mineral Seminar to be Held in Tokyo
The Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corporation (JOGMEC) and the Canadian Embassy in Tokyo will co-sponsor ‘Saskatchewan Mineral Investment Seminar’ at the Embassy on February 10. Speakers will include Saskatchewan Energy and Resources Minister Bill Boyd and Northern Geological Survey Chief Geologist Gary Delaney. Together with representatives from Saskatchewan mining companies, they will speak about investment opportunities, especially in Saskatchewan’s uranium industry.
International Road Dynamics Signs Hong Kong Contract
Saskatoon-based International Road Dynamics Inc. (IRD) received a contract from Lucky Engineering Co. Ltd. in Hong Kong to supply and install a Weigh-In-Motion (WIM) system for Bridge Monitoring/Protection on the Stonecutters Bridge in Hong Kong. Stonecutters Bridge is a 1,596 m. long dual 3-lane high level cable-stayed bridge, with a clear span of 1,018 m. The bridge construction and Weigh-in-Motion installation are to be complete by the end of June 2009. IRD’s total contract value is approximately C$806,400.
Titan Uranium Signs Letter of Agreement with Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corporation
Saskatoon-based Titan Uranium Inc., a uranium explorer, announced the signing of a letter of agreement with Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corporation (JOGMEC). Under the agreement, JOGMEC has committed to funding C$1 million in exploration programs managed by Titan in the first year and may elect to fund a further C$5 million over the subsequent three years of the agreement to acquire an undivided 50% ownership interest in the Border Block Project, located in Saskatchewan’s Athabasca Basin.
Canpotex Signs New Potash Contact with Japan
Canpotex, a marketing consortium comprised of Potash Corp. of Saskatchewan, Agrium Inc. and Mosaic Canada Corp. Nutrition, announced that it has signed an agreement to supply potash to customers in Japan at a price of approximately $900 per tonne. The price is valid for the first six months of 2009.
Viterra Inc. Opens Singapore Office
Regina-based Viterra Inc. announced that it opened a new office in Singapore that will serve as the company’s Asian headquarters and manage trading activity in the region. Viterra Inc. is an agri-business, with extensive operations and distribution capabilities across Western Canada, and with operations in the US, Japan and Singapore. The new company is diversified into sales and services of crop inputs and equipment, grain handling and marketing, livestock feed, agri-food processing and financial products.
