Energy, Natural Resources and the Environment

Asia’s growing population and booming economies have greatly increased the continent’s energy and natural resource consumption. This has led to environmental degradation, negative health outcomes and climate change. Asian countries are addressing increasing energy consumption and climate change by promoting energy efficient technologies, diverse energy sources, sustainable urban planning and improved industrial waste management. Canada has abundant supplies of a variety of energy resources, is a leader in environmental goods and services and is noted for its urban planning capabilities. How should Canada best cooperate with Asia on energy, natural resources and environmental issues?
