Diana Liu

Ms. Diana Liu is one of the two founding partners of Cansbridge Capital Corp. Established in 2000 in Vancouver, Canada, the origin of this boutique venture capital firm was to combine the partners’ venture capital investing experience and technology companies operating background with their strong connections to Asia.

Prior to founding Cansbridge Capital, Ms. Liu was the founding Director and Executive Vice President of PSC Polaris Securities, a subsidiary of Taiwan’s third largest brokerage company where she specialized in investment banking activities for five years. Prior to that, she was with Royal Trust (later acquired by Royal Bank, Canada’s largest financial institution) in global private banking and CIBC Asset Management.

Ms. Liu was a founding Director of Monte Jade Science and Technology (Western Canada) Association where she served as its third term Chairman. She was later elected as the Vice Chair of Monte Jade (Global) Association and continues to serve in that capacity. During her tenure in the Western Canada chapter, she was widely recognized as being instrumental in putting the association on the map by creating and organizing the first Pacific Northwest Venture Capital Forum and the Entrepreneur Workshop. These two annual events are now embraced by the technology community in the region. Through the creation of local Monte Jade chapters, Ms. Liu has extended her connection into technology and investment communities along the Pacific Rim.

Ms. Liu was one of the first Asian Canadians to have successfully brought Asian investments into local technology companies. Some of Ms. Liu’s significant investments include Intrinsyc Software, an embedded software firm listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange; Ncompass Labs, a web content management company acquired by Microsoft in 2001; and Telos Technology, a Vancouver-based wireless infrastructure provider acquired by UT Starcom in 2004 (Nasdaq: UTSI). She also sits on the board of director of BaySpec, Inc. a Silicon Valley-based optical telecom components suppliers with world class investors such as JDS Uniphase, Intel, Cisco, etc.

Ms. Liu is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English, and is a graduate of University of British Columbia in Economics in 1986. She is married with two sons and lives in Vancouver, Canada.
