Gina Hsu graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Master's degree in English Language and Literatures. Her research interests are in transpacific cultural studies, ethnic literature, and Indigenous studies. Gina's journey from Taiwan to Canada led her to questions of nationhood, Indigeneity, and environmental justice. She believes in the power of critical imagination and is passionate about engaging complex social-historical issues through arts and culture.
As the Director of Communication and Outreach of the Asia Pacific Youth Council, Gina hopes to bring her international experience and academic expertise to the team. More specifically, she will facilitate, build, and maintain internal and external relationships pertinent to the growth of the Youth Council and in keeping with the Foundation's mandate to promote the Canadian public's understanding of the Asia Pacific.
