Phebe Ferrer is pursuing a Master's of Political Science at the University of British Columbia. She is passionate about international affairs, diplomacy, and migration studies, and is particularly interested in Southeast Asia's place in the international community. She has focused her studies on Southeast Asia, especially the Philippines, including analyzing the region's relations to Canada and the wider world. She enjoys studying and researching Asian relations, migration, and history, and is planning to pursue a career in diplomacy.
Through her position as Co-President, Phebe intends to increase Canadians' awareness of Southeast Asia, and to demonstrate its growing importance to international politics and economics. She is eager to make use of her extensive event programming experience to craft events that will engage Canadian youth in thinking about Asia and help them find opportunities in the region.
