Kasi Rao and Joseph Wong Appointed Senior Fellows of Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada

Vancouver, BC – December 16, 2011 – The Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada today announced the appointment of Mr. Kasi Rao and Dr. Joseph Wong as Senior Fellows of the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada. They join seven other Senior Fellows in lending their expertise to the Foundation.

Mr. Kasi Rao is a consultant who provides strategic guidance to public and private sector organizations on matters pertaining to higher education, government relations, business development, and policy issues, with a particular focus on India. He also serves as the Senior Advisor on India at the law firm of Bennett Jones LLP. Mr. Rao has an M.A. from the University of Toronto and a B.A. from the University of Waterloo, with a major in Political Science.

Joseph Wong is Canada Research Chair and Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Toronto, where he is also the Director of the Asian Institute at the Munk School of Global Affairs. Wong has been a visiting researcher and fellow at Oxford, Harvard, Seoul National University, among others. He earned his PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2001, and his Hons. B.A. from McGill in 1995. Professor Wong’s current research focuses on innovation, poverty and health in developing world settings.
