Vancouver-based BQE Water Inc. has signed agreements on cyanide management for two of the top ten gold producers in China at their existing operations located in Shandong province. BQE Water will undertake engineering feasibility studies to advance environmental regulations and enable the processing of feedstock with elevated levels of cyanide-soluble copper. The test will allow BQE Water to determine overall project economies, construction budget, and a schedule for possible implementation. Gold output from Shandong province accounts for 30 per cent of China’s total gold production. BQE Water targets this market, which has seen stricter regulations striving to ensure all discharges are non-toxic and do not cause detrimental environmental effects.
