Japanese multinational information technology giant Fujitsu formally announced today the establishment of a new company that will formulate and carry out strategy for its global artificial intelligence (AI) business. The company, Fujitsu Intelligence Technology (FIT), is based in Vancouver and began operations on November 1. FIT will bring together innovative AI technologies and solutions developed around the world to create AI-driven global products and services. Fujitsu chose Vancouver due to its proximity to numerous research institutes and diverse business ecosystem. The new company will benefit from the support and co-operation of both provincial and federal governments, Fujitsu said in a news release.
