Heritage Minister Leads First Creative Industries Trade Mission to China

Minister of Canadian Heritage Mélanie Joly will lead Canada's first creative industries trade mission to China this week alongside 60 cultural businesses and organizations. The purpose of the mission, which is taking place during the Canada–China Year of Tourism 2018, includes facilitating market entry for high-potential, export-ready Canadian MSMEs, promoting Canadian creative industry businesses in China, and promoting Canada as an important creative industries investment partner and destination. With stops in Beijing and Shanghai, the trade mission will provide a twinning program between companies, information and mentoring sessions on navigating China's complex market, and networking opportunities for Chinese and Canadian companies. According to a Government of Canada release, the trade mission will result in the signing of deals worth nearly C$110 million.
