A New Approach to Dementia Care Arrives in Canada from Australia

Dementia Care Matters, which is owned by The Salvation Army (Australia), an international charity, is set to expand in Canada in Fall 2018. Dementia Care Matters is an international transformative support and culture change organization with 23 years of experience in this field in the UK, Ireland and Australia. Leveraging its caregiving experience, Dementia Care Matters is proposing a new model of care it calls the “Butterfly Approach” based on the idea that it is possible to reach and connect with people living with dementia. It is set to have one accredited location in Mississauga and five in Alberta.
