Laos

Laos confirmed its first case of COVID-19 on March 24, and as of December 9, 2020, it has 41 confirmed cases and 0 deaths. Shortly after the first case, the government implemented a nation-wide lockdown effectively mandating citizens to stay home, unless authorized for reasons deemed essential. The country's borders are now closed, along with all private hospitals and clinics. The spread of the novel coronavirus appears to be under control, and some prevention measures have come under review in light of its negative economic effects.
